LCD1602 16×2 Character Display with Blue Backlight
The LCD1602 is a practical character-display module designed to show letters, numbers, symbols and basic system information. It provides two rows, with space for up to 16 characters on each row. White characters appear clearly against the blue LED backlight, making the displayed information easy to read.
This module operates using a 5V supply and supports both 4-bit and 8-bit parallel communication. In 4-bit mode, fewer microcontroller pins are required, making it a convenient option for Arduino and other development-board projects.
Display contrast can be adjusted through the contrast pin, normally using a potentiometer. The backlight can also be controlled according to the project’s circuit design.
For projects requiring fewer connections, a separately available I2C interface adapter can be attached to the module. This generally reduces the connection requirement to four lines: VCC, GND, SDA and SCL.
